Paula Zubek
Owner/Operator - Copper Blues
As a native of Collingwood, Paula was very excited to have the opportunity to come back to live, work and play here after graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce and B.A. in Art History. In 1994 she purchased an operating, failing restaurant and with her partner Dustin turned Terracotta into a Collingwood favourite. Because of a love of the business and a hands on operating approach they were approached in 2001 by Intrawest to start a business in the proposed Village at Blue Mountain. In 2002, Copper Blues Bar & Grill opened its doors as the first restaurant in the Village when there was only one hotel, one icon building and a dream of things to come. Two years later Copper Blues Fitness was born in the town of Collingwood.
Paula is actively involved in The Georgian Bay Club Foundation as Event Chair of a Golf Event which raises approximately $100,000 per year in support of local charities and Foundations such as the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation, the Collingwood campus of Georgian College and Habitat for Humanity. She is also on the Board of Theatre Collingwood and plays a part in Titz and Glitz. |

Phil Walker
Owner - Collingwood Hyundai
Phil’s background is that of an automobile dealer and commercial land developer. He has been in the automobile business for virtually all of his working life, having held various positions with Kenworth Trucks and the Ford Motor Company.
He acquired the Ford dealership in Barrie (now Barrie Ford) in 1984 and grew it from a struggling business with 29 employees to an award-winning dealership with a staff of 105 and annual sales in excess of $65 million.
He sold the dealership and his real estate development business in early 1998 and embarked on a long vacation. However, missing the activity, challenge, and satisfaction of the car business, he secured the Hyundai franchise for Collingwood in early 2009. He purchased the site at 10109 Highway 26 East, constructed a state of the art facility and opened for business on September 29, 2011.
Phil is excited to be a part of the vibrant Georgian Triangle business community and Collingwood Hyundai. |
